The NIPHC Food Program Subcommittee of the Environmental Health Committee provides a forum for local health departments to compare and evaluate food program approaches and identify potential region-wide consistency in food program activities. Providing an opportunity to review each others' approaches to food programs encourages more standardization, consistency, and more unified movement toward implementing best practices.

Top Activities

  • Collecting and comparing data from local health departments in areas such as cottage food operations, supplemental grilling permits, and mobile food vendor permits
  • Current focus on shared kitchens and temporary food events- identifying potential areas of regional collaboration
